In retrospect, I should have started blogging about our donkeys when we first began our adventure, but guess it's better late than never!  It all began a few years back when we retired and moved to southern Minnesota to be near our son and family.  Rod had always wanted a few donkeys.  We had not seen the miniatures, but when did, that was it for us!  It was so much fun visiting donkey farms, from here to Texas!   Some of the donkey owners quickly became our mentors.  We ended up putting downpayments on four jennet foals, to be picked up at weaning time in the fall, a yearling jennet, and a two year old jack.  But these were not the first donkeys on our farm!  That August we attended our very first donkey auction to which donkey lovers from around the U.S. and Canada consign and buy donkeys.  We came home with three wonderful yearlings, Dessa Fox, Mars, and Wendy Vu.
