Niadema gave birth to little Nikki last Friday...Saturday, since was a pleasant day, let her take her little one out to pasture to meet the rest of the herd. New mothers are very protective in this situation, though some are more paranoid than others. Niadema calmly turned her backside towards any that got too close...a language they understood! But what really warmed our hearts was to see her seek out her best buddy, Luiga, whom she proudly allowed to check out little Nikki thoroughly. Quite the honor! The intelligence and sweetness of minidonkeys never ceases to amaze us!
